In 2012 we joined forces with Madsen Consulting Engineering, a Structural Engineering firm founded by Erik Madsen, PE in 2010. The firm has currently more than 700 completed or active engineering projects. The firm also offers related services including structural steel connection design and detailing, special inspections, building engineer services, peer reviews, structural conditions assessment reports and feasibility studies, forensic investigations, adjacent property review, litigation assistance. We are also in a partnership with D.I.F. Engineering, a leading Israeli expert audit company, led by Ilan Feder. Our research arm, VM Technology, is currently collaborating with the The New York University Center for Urban Science And Progress and on research, development and implementation of innovative, flexible, scalable, reliable and affordable sensing solutions for various applications, with the emphasize on infrastructure degradation. Since 2000, we have been exploring a few directions of development: fiber optic sensing for detection of chemicals, optical imaging for corrosion detection and vibration monitoring for structures and equipment. Results of this research have been summarized in a book published in 2018 by Springer Publishing - “Optical Phenomenology and Applications: Health Monitoring for Infrastructure Materials and the Environment”.
