Village Playback Theatre is an applied theater company committed to bringing the stories of the underrepresented to the stage. An ensemble based company anchored in New York City, VPT provides performances on location in a variety of settings including hospitals, schools, prisons, shelters, small businesses, and public theaters. Using dramatic and musical improvisation, VPT elicits personal stories from its audience and transforms them on the spot into a poignant theatrical experience.
