We make quality but affordable leather bags in Uganda and India where 100% of the profit is invested back into businesses in Uganda. Consumers want to positively impact the world with their purchases yet we have become incredibly cynical about "do good brands". The typical model is to sell a product and then donate a few cents on the dollar to a cause. The impact is marginal and the cost is simply passed on to you the end consumer. We don't do charity. We don't pass on cost to our consumers. Rather donating some profit to charity we invest ALL of our profit back into small businesses in Uganda. We manage those investments and hopefully recover the capital when those investments succeed. Increasing impact but with no additional cost to our consumers. Unemployment is a chronic problem in Uganda and in Africa in general. Ugandans don't want handouts. They want jobs. Charity exists in the hope that the jobs will eventually come.
