[Português] VACALOURA.pt é um projeto 100% voluntário que pretende envolver os cidadãos na conservação da vaca-loura (Lucanus cervus) e das restantes espécies de escaravelhos da família Lucanidae (Lucanus barbarossa, Dorcus parallelipipedus e Platycerus spinifer) em Portugal, através da compilação de dados sobre a distribuição e estado das populações e também de educação ambiental. Nasceu de uma parceria entre a Associação Bioliving, a Unidade de Vida Selvagem do Departamento de Biologia da Universidade de Aveiro, a Sociedade Portuguesa de Entomologia (SPEN) e o Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das Florestas (ICNF), fruto de um interesse partilhado e da combinação de diferentes valências e áreas de atuação de cada entidade para a conservação destas espécies. Saiba mais em www.vacaloura.pt [English] VACALOURA.pt is a 100% voluntary project which aims to involve citizens in the conservation of the European Stag Beetle (Lucanus cervus) and the other species of beetles of the Lucanidae family (Lucanus barbarossa, Dorcus parallelipipedus and Platycerus spinifer) in Portugal, by compiling data regarding the distribution and population status while developing an environmental education programme. It was born of a partnership between the Associação Bioliving, the Wildlife Unit of the Department of Biology of the University of Aveiro, the Portuguese Society of Entomology (SPEN) and the Institute for the Conservation of Nature and Forests (ICNF), and its the result of a shared interest and the combination of different valences and areas of action of each entity for the conservation of these species.
