Overview

Established in 2013, the Schlesinger Global - Family Enterprise Case Competition (SG-FECC) is a celebration of family business education and a globally unique, learning, and networking experience for students, educators, and judges. SG-FECC prepares participants to understand the critical issues that are unique to family enterprise by applying the knowledge and expertise they have developed in the classroom towards solving complex family business cases. SG-FECC was recently was honored with the 2023 International Achievement Award by the Family Firm Institute (FFI), the leading global association for family enterprise professionals. Each year, the FFI Awards honor excellence in the field by granting Achievement Awards in Family Business Research and Practice. The FFI International Award was established in 2000 and recognizes individuals or organizations for outstanding achievement in furthering the understanding of international issues and global networks in multi-generational, family-owned enterprise. Key facts: In the first ten years SG-FECC has been attended by: - 800 competitors - 219 teams - participants from 27 countries including Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, France, Germany, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Panama, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, UK, and USA - 558 Judges - 334 student organizers and competitors from UVM - 66 Universities
