Overview
U.S. Army Japan supports U.S. Army Pacific and U.S. Indo-Pacific command Theater Strategy by ensuring a free and open Indo-Pacific. We do this by being able to effectively fight alongside the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force providing a credible deterrent to adversary aggression allowing the U.S. to compete from a position of strength and advantage. The Theater Army is able to provide warfighting capabilities; primary source knowledge; and critical reception, staging, onward movement, and integration support at point of need to the joint force in the event of crisis or contingency.
