Overview

University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH, also called Vietnam – France University) is a public university, which was established in 2009 under the Intergovernmental Agreement between Vietnam and France with the ambition to become one of the most excellent research-oriented universities at an international standard in Vietnam. USTH’s Bachelor’s training programs were recognized and accredited by the High Council of Evaluation of Research and Higher Education in France (HCERES) – the most prestigious education quality accreditation organization in France and Europe. In addition, the University cooperates with the prestigious universities and research institutes in France to co-award Master’s degrees. Since 2022, USTH opens a Vietnam-France double degree program for 3 majors: Biotechnology – Drug Discovery, Information and Communication Technology, and Chemistry. USTH provides an international high-quality training environment with the main language in English and a team of dedicated and experienced lecturers in training and research in Vietnam and in the world. The University aims to train students comprehensively through extensive research and research activities, encouraging autonomy, critical creative thinking; also, creating an environment to nurture and develop the passion in science. USTH aims to become a world-class research university with research projects that have long-term academic values, high applicability to socio-economic development. The current major research areas include Artificial intelligence, data science, and machine learning; applied biotechnology in smart agriculture; health care, advanced materials; recycled energy; remote sensing; environment; combating climate change and sustainable development. USTH has built 2 international joint laboratories and 1 strong research group, 2 potential research groups. Up to December 2021, USTH had 414 science publications in prestigious international magazines in the list of SCI, SCI-E.
