UBC SWIFT: Sauder Women+ in Finance Training

Capital Markets

Overview

Sauder Women+ in Finance Training (SWIFT) is a specialized training program in finance at the UBC Sauder School of Business specifically designed for undergraduate students of UBC who self-identify as women, two spirit, or non-binary. For over 35 years in partnership with the UBC Portfolio Management Foundation (PMF), UBC Sauder’s Division of Finance has been a world-class provider of experiential learning and academic research with a proud legacy and standing mission to train skilled financiers, leaders in the field, and pillars of the community. UBC Sauder is deeply committed to a collaborative and respectful culture where all voices, experiences, ideas, and identities can thrive. In financial services, women continue to be underrepresented. In 2021, only 21% of the board seats in financial institutions worldwide were held by women. The objective of the SWIFT program is to remove barriers for those who have been marginalized. SWIFT is launched to provide top-quality training in finance to a diverse stream of talent by supplying excellence equity, diversity, and inclusion to employers and students who share the same vision for responsible leadership. SWIFT students learn and engage with the business community, leveraging resources in Capital Markets training, investment knowledge, summer internships, mentorship, and networking.
