Overview

UBC Orbit is a student team dedicated to the design and development of a category of satellites called CubeSats. We are currently partaking in the Canadian Satellite Design Challenge, and we are also working in collaborations with SFU and UVIC to launch a satellite on behalf of British Columbia. We are a Satellite Design Team from the University of British Columbia Vancouver Campus. Our team is comprised of over 30 undergraduate and graduate students from a variety of programs, primarily engineering. Our core objectives are to create practical and inexpensive satellites, while providing our members with the opportunity to develop and hone their abilities so they can later apply them when they start working in industry. In the upcoming two year cycle we will strive to build a satellite that is able to take remote images and send them back in an instant to any radio operator. Moreover, we want to increase interest in space exploration and publish our work so others can learn from it.
