    • Structure/Mechanical Sub Team
      • Oct 2022 - Present

      - Generated and refined simulations of a CubeSat model using ANSYS software. - Simplified the multimodal CubeSat model for increased efficiency in FEA software. - Reported on the satellite's behaviour under structural, modal, and random vibration loading. - Transferred approximately 300 engineering files to Onshape's 3D CAD and PDM platform. - Utilized SolidWorks to redesign parts, incorporate new features, and decrease stress. - Applied knowledge of material properties to optimize the CubeSat structure. - Coordinated with multidisciplinary sub-teams to ensure system integration is correctly implemented. • Design & Analysis: Joints
      • Sep 2021 - Aug 2022

UBC Steel Bridge constructs 1:10 scale steel bridges to compete in national and international competitions. My work on developing the primary joints used on the bridge model was a large contributing factor to our success in competition in the 2021/2022 season. - Designed and evaluated different joint configurations to optimize the load path of the bridge model. - Innovated existing designs to limit faying surfaces as per the year’s new challenging competition rules. - Utilized S-Frame software and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to calculate joint stresses. - Won top Canadian team among the top universities in Canada at the CNSBC Competition in Sherbrooke, Quebec and was invited to compete at the SSBC Nationals at Virginia Tech University. • Captain/Operations & Infrastructure Sub Team
      • Sep 2018 - Mar 2020

Competed in the International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) by completing three different RFP design challenges; qualifying, semi-final, and finals level proposals. To compete in the finals competition hosted by NASA at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, our design team of 10 students raised ~$13,000 by making connections with local businesses and media. Some of my roles during the finals competition are as follows: - Developed systems for a lunar settlement such as a simulated day/night cycle, solar energy grid, emergency protocols, and dust management systems as per a request for proposal. - Managed communications between the various subteams to create a comprehensive, 50-page proposal under a time constraint of 40 hours. - Assisted the business/management teams with the creation of the primary Gantt Chart and cost estimation for materials and contracted services. - Represented Canada as our team won 1st place amongst international student teams.
