The U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia serves the public and administers justice in 23 counties, with our headquarters in Charleston, the capital city, and divisional courthouses and offices in Beckley, Bluefield, and Huntington. Our court is comprised of five active District Judges, two Senior District Judges, three Magistrate Judges, along with Chambers Staff, Clerk’s Office Staff, and Probation and Pretrial Services Office Staff. We are legal professionals, federal probation officers, IT experts, courtroom deputies, and more. Together, we are part of the Federal Judiciary, the third branch of the Federal Government.
