Overview
The Commission was established by the Government of Kenya as a result of the National Accord facilitated by the former Secretary General of the UN, Kofi Annan. It is mandated to describe, investigate, and evaluate human rights abuses, broadly defined, from 1963 to 2008 with the aim of promoting truth, justice, reconciliation and national healing.
