Overview
This is the official LinkedIn page for Triphammer Cooperative – the edgyest, veggiest, iciest certified yutes on the corner of Triphammer and Jessup Road... Built in 1912, the big blue house originally housed a Sigma Kappa chapter. In 1956, the all-white sorority offered membership to Barbara Collier Delany––an African American. National headquarters gave them an ultimatum: reject the new pledge, or get shut down. Members of the local chapter refused to kick out Delaney, and the sorority was continued to as an independent sorority. In 1964, the house transformed into a student-run, women's cooperative. Triphammer Cooperative eventually became co-ed in the late 1990's. Today, it is home to 20 undergraduate and graduate students.
