Traditional Neighborhood Development (TND) Partners is a New Urbanist real estate development firm based in Durham, North Carolina. The company was founded in 1999, and has since been involved in numerous dynamic projects nationwide. TND’s work centers on residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments, and strives to incorporate the New Urbanist principles of compacy walkabilty and smart transportation, quality architecture, and sustainability. Our notable developments include The Village at Hendrix College, Trinity Heights at Duke University, the Winmore Mixed-Use Community, and Legacy Park at Harding University. TND Partners has had the pleasure of collaborating with industry visionaries including Lew Oliver, Inc., Duany, Plater-Zyberk and Co., Dover, Kohl & Partners, and Grenfell Architects, among others. The founder and CEO of TND Partners is Robert L. Chapman, III, who has been involved in real estate development for more than two decades. In 1996, Mr. Chapman was one of only 25 American developers invited to sign the Charter of the New Urbanism. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Congress for the New Urbanism and was founding chair of the National Town Builder’s Assocation and the North Carolina Smart Growth Alliance.
