Founded in 1991, TIMESIS S.r.l. is a consultancy firm based in Pisa and Turin (Italy). Since 1997, Timesis s.r.l. services comply with UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 quality certification in "Consultancy, design, studies and services in the field of soil science, agronomy, forestry and land sciences“. TIMESIS s.r.l. provides its services through 4 associates, 2 administrative assistants and a pool of around 40 long-term appointed experts, specialized in different areas of environmental sciences (ecology, soil science, biology, agronomy, and forestry; the working group also includes engineers and economists). TIMESIS' main field of expertise since 25 years are: - SOIL SCIENCE, SOIL HYDROLOGY, IRRIGATION; - MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES; - IMPLEMENTATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS; - AGRICULTURE, NATURAL RESOURCES, ENVIRONMENT, TOURISM; - PROJECT DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT TIMESIS provides soil physical analyses such as soil-water retention curves, and bulk density and defines the Soil Biological Quality Index based on micro-arthropods evaluation (QBS-ar). These measures and techniques are currently used for environmental monitoring projects. From July 2011, TIMESIS s.r.l. set up TIMESIS Afrique based in Essaouira (Morocco). Timesis Afrique deals with agriculture, environment and rural development and provides consultancy services to farmers, with special focus on vineyard and olive-trees.
