Overview

Established in 2007 Tim Mein Architects undertakes diverse projects including residential, commercial and aviation. Tim Mein Architects has completed airport terminals in New Zealand and the Pacific Region and has provided terminal planning services to aviation clients. Tim Mein Architects $5 million Rotorua Airport Terminal upgrade was completed in 2020. The project replanned the existing terminal buildings, including upgrades to the existing departures and arrivals wings and construction of a new glazed link. Tim Mein Architects undertook terminal designs for the WORLD BANK funded Pacific Aviation Investment Program (PAIP). We designed the terminals and prepared bid documents and specifications for four (4) airports in the program. The four PAIP airport terminal projects are located in Kiribati, Tonga and Tuvalu. The terminals are designed to cater for the marine environment, tropical cyclones, high temperatures and high humidity. Making enduring, naturally ventilated buildings suited to the tropical climate of the Pacific Region.
