Thurlestone Shipping

Overview

Thurlestone Shipping was established in London in 2004 by two long serving dry bulk shipping professionals. Their aspiration was to develop a company true to the principles of physical shipbroking. As the market began to be impacted by non-physical/financial pressures, it has expanded rapidly as other likeminded shipping specialists have joined the team. While an unprecedented dry bulk freight market boom drew to a close in 2008, Thurlestone Shipping has continued to grow since. In 2006 it established an office in Beijing focused primarily on the growing ship owning sector in China. In 2008 Thurlestone Shipping Singapore Pte Ltd was founded to support the growing shipping market generated by the mining and trading sectors. In 2009 Thurlestone Melbourne was opened to focus on the existing shipping business in Australia and the many start-up mining companies looking to ‘first ore on ship’. More recently, in 2012, Thurlestone Shipping SARL, Monaco was set up concentrating on the Sale & Purchase of shipping assets. In less than 10 years Thurlestone has seen its worldwide presence grow to five offices around the world. Its people are experienced shipping professionals offering a broad range of competence. Today, Thurlestone is regarded as one of the world’s leading shipbroking and shipping services providers.
