Overview

Brian Cash (Yale School of Architecture ’19), Nathan Portlock (Yale School of Management ’18), and Miguel Sanchez-Enkerlin (Yale School of Architecture ’19) have cofounded THE SWITCH, a platform to solve problems in urban planning and real estate that will arise with the mass deployment of autonomous vehicles. THE SWITCH has been collecting mobility data between Los Angeles and San Bernardino, CA, and proposes an architectural solution set for multimodal transportation hubs. Linking existing rail infrastructure, conventionally-operated vehicles, and bicycles with an autonomous vehicle depot will preempt boomerang effects of AVs and add to the ecosystem of services possible within the next transportation revolution.
