Design events have traditionally been focused on elevating a minority. We believe that this has had a negative impact on creative communities and reinforced a culture of gate keeping. Whether it is stale classroom slide-shows or exclusive lecture hall elitism we think it is time to provide an alternative that has for far too long been controlled by closed groups, networks and cliques. Imagine a worldwide group of communities that unite through a shared passion for creativity. We picture a collection of non–judgemental safe spaces that are unique in their location but connected by a collective vision. Our aim is to nurture a culture that puts people before personal popularity and by elevating all voices we can help address topics, share stories and unite communities.
