Overview
The Yellow movement Addis Ababa University is an initiative started by a group of students from Addis Ababa University School of Law and a lecturer from the same school. It was established in 2011 with the aim of creating continuous discussions on issues of Gender Based Violence and empowerment of women. Eventhough student-led clubs are common in many higher educational institutions, this initiative and the gender inclusive agendas it explores are the first for the country. The initiative has over 30 core members, both female and male, and thousands of volunteers that engage with the team online and off.
