Overview

We started The Village Screen pop-up cinema in 2015 in order to show cult films in quirky locations, alongside delicious street food and all-round party vibes. Since 2015, we have screened films to over 35,000 people in Sheffield, Manchester, the Peak District and further afield. We’ve shown The Goonies in a cave, The Little Mermaid in a swimming pool, Romeo & Juliet in a Monastery and The Shining in the grounds of a hotel. We’re not just about showing a movie on the big screen - our aim is to create truly unique, intimate events that make people smile and create lasting, happy memories. We’ve grown in the past 5 years from a one-woman band working at her kitchen table to a small, dedicated team but as we grow, we still want to maintain our independent feel. We’re a small business and we strive to support other local businesses in all that we do, from booking local street food vendors, to musicians, DJ’s and more. We will always aim to work with like minded people who share our values, and just want to create lovely events. We’re also in the process of writing an ethical policy, which we will share with our customers very soon. We recognise that we have a responsibility to be ethical and environmentally-friendly, which is why we are phasing out single-use plastics at our events, encouraging people to bring reusable cups and choosing suppliers who share our ethical values too. As well as The Village Screen pop-up cinema, we also run The Village Green Events Co. which sees us planning and delivering unique weddings and celebration events, as well as corporate events across the UK. We’re a creative bunch and we work with some wonderful clients. We also have a treasure trove of hire items in our warehouse, from deckchairs, to unique lighting and styling items. Get in touch if we can help you with your upcoming event, we’d love to hear from you.
