Overview

Welcome to the Suwandi Foundation! We are a non-profit dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged students in Bali, Indonesia through the power of education. We aim to equip children with the necessary skills to secure higher-paying jobs, empowering them to overcome the shackles of poverty. To ensure the success of this goal, the Suwandi Foundation focuses on achieving the following outcomes: increasing student confidence, enhancing English proficiency, and increasing high school graduation rates and the number of students that attend university. To do this, we actively support local entrepreneurs in establishing after-school learning centers, known as Yayasans. These centers offer student sponsorships and a holistic approach to education, currently including English education, with the future plans of offering computer literacy, mental health, physical health, music, environmental and marine science, and career planning and development courses. At these Yayasans, students participate in engaging one-hour classes led by dedicated local teachers and well-trained international volunteers. These collaborative efforts result in activity-based lessons and exciting projects and games that foster a love for learning. Our first partner learning center, Yayasan Loka Mawa Upadhi, was established in May 2023 and has opened its doors to 150 students! We continue to work with local staff, partners, and international interns and volunteers to create a sustainable and high-quality learning experience for children in Tulamben, Bali. As we forge ahead on this transformative journey, we invite supporters like you to join hands with the Suwandi Foundation. Get Involved: Give Now! Volunteer or intern with us in Bali!
