Overview

The mission of The Remedy Project is to train and embolden college students to defend the human rights of people incarcerated in United States federal prisons. To accomplish this goal, student volunteers are trained by formerly incarcerated advocates to file administrative remedies, the formal grievance process in federal prisons, on behalf of incarcerated people. Students across the country then go on to create campaigns and actions to publicize the crisis that is the United States Prison System from the perspective of our incarcerated members. The Remedy Project expects its student members to harness their privilege and education to hold prison administrations accountable, demand a departure from the violent, punitive, and abusive nature of prison staff, combat injustice, and restore some humanity to people caught in an inhumane system.
