Nepal Secretariat of Skills and Training - NSST

Professional Training and Coaching

Overview

NSST is a Nepalese-German skills training initiative, established in 2021 as a non-profit distributing company (gGmbH) with the motive of making a good eco-system for dual TVET in Nepal, creating excellent career opportunities for Young Nepalese on different levels, and helping German companies to get quality-skilled people. These motives of NSST are based on three pillars mentioned below: Nepalese youths: NSST provides a door of opportunity to connect Nepalese youths to apprenticeship programs in Germany. An apprenticeship program (Ausbildung) is paid on-the-job training combined with classroom learning that provides recognized industry credentials. German companies: As a part of the NSST program, the Nepalese youths are trained, mentored, and guided over a period of a year while also being assisted to gain their B2 level German language and then linked with German companies respectively. The companies, therefore, are able to minimize their recruiting and administration costs by hiring motivated and well-trained candidates and additionally receive assistance in any subject correlated with the apprentice (Azubis) throughout the program. Nepalese companies: NSST plans to develop and upgrade dual VET centers in the country while working in collaboration with other partner organizations to develop curriculum and manuals for training the trainer and help create a better ecosystem for dual vocational education in the country. All these aspects aim towards achieving the three SDGs: gender equality, quality education, good jobs, and economic growth of these three pillars. NSST is looking for partnerships with companies, training institutions, chambers as well as individual experts in Nepal and Germany.
