Zugs is the brainchild of Mark Hanlon and Sinead Murphy, coming from an inspiration to create illustrative handmade rugs for children that are bold, colourful and exciting. With their own child on the way, Mark and Sinead struggled to find interesting rugs for babies and children that had a high quality design, and finish... it was all a bit bland and uninspiring really. Having already conquered a successful carpet business - Foundation Rugs - and coming from a background in illustration and design, Mark has added his personal style and fun imagination to open up a magical world of crazy characters. Steering the business along is Sinead, coming from a background in advertising working on global brands at advertising agencies such as MC Saatchi. Together they are able to produce fun and inspiring rugs for kids that are ethically made from natural, locally sourced materials with children in mind. And rugs are just the beginning...
