Overview

Founded in 2020, The Fort Institute (TFI) is a pioneering non-profit organization with a singular mission: to transform the leadership landscape of Africa. Our vision is an Africa led by visionary, ethical, and purpose-driven leaders who possess the skills, knowledge, and values to drive sustainable development and shape the continent's future. Our dedication to this mission centers around two pillars: reimagining education and leadership development. Through experiential learning, a proven method that equips leaders through real-life experiences, practice, and theoretical learning, we equip individuals with the tools they need to become transformational leaders. TFI is committed to raising 10 million transformational leaders from and for Africa by 2050. We believe that leadership is the key to unlocking Africa's immense potential. By empowering leaders who drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact across diverse sectors and communities, we aim to address critical challenges. Our work has two major outcomes: the reduction of unemployment and the creation of better institutions. As we produce leaders who are equipped to drive change and create opportunities, we contribute to job creation and economic growth. Strong, ethical leadership is the foundation of effective institutions, and we envision institutions that are transparent, accountable, and capable of driving positive change. To deliver transformational impact, we leverage cutting-edge technology, continuous research, and collaboration with leading institutions. We also maintain a dynamic community of scholars and practitioners who learn from each other and refine their skills over time. Through our innovative programs, we are creating a new generation of leaders positioned to shape the future of Africa and the world.
