The Eddie Heart Project

Overview

Imagine receiving a phone call that will change your life. You race to the location only to see the traumatizing event that your loved one has gone into cardiac arrest. The thought runs through your mind over and over... Is there something that could've changed this outcome??? That's what this project is all about! Our mission is simple yet challenging all at the same time. We worked tirelessly to educate and create awareness on sudden cardiac arrest. Our dream is to place AEDs throughout the community whether it's a local business, the park down the street or even your home. Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is not a prejudice disease, it can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time without warning. Since I lost my father to SCA over three years ago I have come to realize that there is not enough public access AED's in our communitys and businesses. Emergency medical services do all that they can to get there in time but let's face it, in most situations it's impossible for them to get there within 2 to 3 minutes. The average response time is 10 to 12 minutes, by then in most cases, like my father it's just not possible to save a life. By receiving a shock in the first 2 to 3 minutes of an SCA emergency you can increase the chances of survival by more than 70%. Just think… The one receiving a shock just may be someone you know or yourself. If your organization or company does not current have any AED please reach out to us. Our AED programs include Medical Direction, an emergency plan and training with online annual refreshers with the purchase of an AED.
