The Danish Heart Foundation is Denmark’s second largest interest organization within the area of public health. We have 137.000 members, 90 employees, 88 local associations, 7 exercise committees, 3 patient clubs and support centers spread throughout Denmark. Our vision is to create a healthier and better life for all. We work with research in cardiovascular diseases, prevention of heart diseases and support of patients. The Danish Heart Foundation is a private foundation funded primarily by private contributions. Every year we provide financial support to a large share of the Danish research on cardiovascular diseases – in total, we provide approx. DKK 25 million. The Danish Heart Foundation engage in the public debate with decision makers and the health sector both nationally and internationally in order to represent the interest of heart patients.
