Overview

The Charter Schools Educational Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust of schools based in Southwark, south-east London. Our mission is to work together to ensure that every child in our family of schools has the knowledge, skills and confidence to live lives of opportunity and choice. We do this through a collaborative network of high-performing, co-educational, non-faith academies, and by sharing best practice not only across our schools, but with our wider educational partnerships via our Teaching School Hub and Education Endowment Foundation research school. The Trust’s work is underpinned by the three core values of Inclusion, Community and Excellence. Each of our schools is at the centre of their local community, with all staff striving to create caring, responsible citizens, who make a valuable contribution to the communities they grow up in. Moreover, our schools are committed to ensuring every child, and young person achieves their academic potential regardless of their starting points. The Trust encourages a growth mind-set and an ethos of continuous improvement for those who study and work in our schools. Our family of schools currently includes primary and secondary schools, and sixth form provision in the north and south of the London borough of Southwark. Across the Trust, our diversity of offer and commitment to being ‘outward-facing’ are the bedrock of our model. We balance alignment and shared central services with the autonomy which enables our schools to innovate, and it is this innovation which makes our schools so special. With a focus on strong leadership and school improvement across the Trust, our aim is to continue to responsibly grow our Trust from this strong and stable platform. We are hoping to welcome more south London schools, who share our vision and values, into the Trust family over the coming months, and our mission remains the same: to transform lives through the power of inclusive education in community-focused schools.
