Overview

Tech Leading Ladies is an Australian community group that aims to bridge the gender gap in our technical leadership teams. Our group began as an internal coaching circle at xero in 2017 by Michelle Gleeson, when she saw a high drop-off in the representation of women in leadership positions and set about fixing the problem. Six months later, we opened the group up publicly, and now are a skilled, supportive community stretching across Australia and New Zealand. Each month we bring our women-identifying and non-binary members talks and information that focus on - managing and navigating your own career - building leadership and management skills, and - effectively running engineering organisations. Through the month we have a very active coaching community on slack, where members coach, support and advocate for each other. In short, we explicitly provide the implicit networks that don't exist in organisations for people in under-represented groups.
