The Basketball Tournament (TBT) is a 64-team, single elimination event for $1 million that airs on ESPN each summer. 2022 will mark its ninth year. TBT has experienced exponential growth in recent years, thanks in large part to multi-year extensions with longtime partners ESPN, Puma, and Zelle. In 2020, TBT was notably the first indoor sporting event to play in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic after successfully devising a rigorous health & safety protocol. The company has also become known as a trendsetter in basketball circles. In 2020, the NBA adopted TBT’s Elam Ending for its All-Star Game, which drew rave reviews from players, fans and media members alike.
