Overview

The largest and expanding farm animal practice in the UK, 100% independently owned by integral members of our extensive team,110 staff including 45 Vets, 20 Vet Techs. Our dedicated, locally based, vet led teams, work with herds and flocks across Dorset, East Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Hampshire, include a broad spectrum of vets, from industry leaders to recent graduates including Royal Veterinary College (RVC) Production Animal Interns. We cater for a wide range and size of farming enterprise providing bespoke Schemes from Flock Consultancy packages; Beef Health Scheme; Smallholder Club; Mastitis and Youngstock advisory services, alongside proactive Herd Health and Fertility visits and reactive sick animal and emergency cover. Our pioneering Vet Techs, work with our clients and those of other practices to deliver specific livestock management tasks including foot trimming, mobility scoring, vaccinations and mobile plunge sheep dipping. Our highly experienced and qualified Techs arrive with all the tools and crushes required. We run training courses, educational client meetings and are launching an online training platform. We boast Post Graduate qualifications, awards from Epidemiology to Welfare to Fellowships and embrace a strong vision of people development. Team members are involved in other ventures supporting veterinary and animal health via our Cattle Lameness Academy – consultancy, training and research in Lameness control; Surefarm our sister company specialising in TB diagnostics development; RVC final year student teaching; food chain consultancy; Research; Post Graduate Residency Programme; various Government work including the management of DEFRA West region Veterinary Delivery Partnership. Founder members of XL Vets UK Ltd and Vet Salus a new global and sustainability focused consultancy and training business; active members of the British Cattle Veterinary Association (BCVA), Sheep Veterinary Society, Goat, Pig and Camelid Veterinary Societies.
