Overview

The Southwest ADA Center serves a wide range of audiences who are interested in or impacted by Americans with Disabilities Act, including employers, businesses, government agencies, schools and people with disabilities. Expert staff members are available to provide training and publications and to respond to your inquiries via the toll free hotline 800-949-4232. The Southwest ADA Center is part of the ADA National Network funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) under the Department of Health and Human Services. About the Southwest ADA Center : The Southwest ADA Center's mission is to provide information, guidance, and training on implementation of all aspects of the ADA. Based in Houston, Texas, our center covers the five state southwest region of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Our staff consists of individuals with and without disabilities who have extensive experience in the disability field. The Southwest ADA Center is a program of ILRU (Independent Living Research Utilization), at TIRR Memorial Hermann in Houston, Texas. The Center is funded by a grant (90DP0092) from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR). The Southwest ADA Center is not an advocacy or enforcement organization. We do not provide legal advice. We provide information and technical assistance on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to all persons and organizations with rights and/or responsibilities under the law.
