SSE Steel Fabrication, formerly known as Southern Services & Equipment, Inc. is an AISC-certified, large capacity, full-service source for steel fabrication, painting, blasting and finishing. We also offer mobile welding services for on-site fabrication and emergency repair. Located in St. Bernard, La., a short distance from New Orleans, SSE maintains a 18,000 square foot metal fabrication facility, as well as a 2-acre blast and paint yard. Construction of an enclosed painting facility is currently in progress. Our construction division has performed large contracts for repairs to the Greater New Orleans and SE Louisiana Hurricane Levee Protection System, pumping stations in Orleans and Plaquemines Parish, the Port Allen Locks and Calcasieu Locks, and flood control structures in St. Bernard Parish, as well as many other projects. SSE is a minority-owned small business, certified as a DBE with the LA Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD), the Regional Transit Authority (RTA), the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) and the Recovery School District (RSD).
