SMUX is the CCA student constituent body that represents the outdoor and adventure wing of SMU. Established in 2000 by a group of like-minded students who sought to share their passion for the outdoors with others, we have grown to become 1 family comprising 6 teams – namely Biking, Diving, Kayaking, Skating, Trekking, and Xseed. The SMUX community welcomes both the uninitiated and seasoned enthusiasts, offering a range of opportunities to explore the outdoors spanning from beginner-friendly exploratory activities to more advanced expeditions that will challenge oneself. Having amassed over 3000 members, we have put ourselves on the world map through our many expeditions, as well as social initiatives such as Reef Alert and Bike4Change. SMUX also organises a variety of signature events each year. Firstly, we have SMUX Camp, where all incoming freshmen get an opportunity to try what each team has to offer. Another one is Pedal x Paddle, an introductory event where participants get to both experience kayaking and cycling. We also have Skatathon, which is Singapore's only skating marathon, and draws in large crowds from the public and international fronts yearly.
