MLCC stands for Malay Language and Cultural Club and we are a student-led club in Singapore Management University. As a club, we hope to achieve our vision of being the premier tertiary organisation for Malay language and culture in SMU. Our aim is to create greater awareness and appreciation of the Malay culture and language through our activities while contributing back to the society and fostering a close rapport with Malay organisations. As MLCC, we come up with events that are catered to the whole SMU Malay Community. Some of our notable events include Welfare Drive, Movie Night, Budaya Week and our Orientation Camp, Kenal Suai. Under us, we have 2 branches which are Rentak and Persadamu. Rentak is a percussion ensemble where you will be exposed to the different Malay instruments such as the Kompang and Marwas, and learn about the history, diversity and various playing styles.
