Sleep Green is a small, home-like youth hostel in the center of Barcelona. It was created from the passion to minimize the impact of the hostel's business operations on natural resources. In recognition of its commitment to sustainable tourism, Sleep Green was awarded with the EU Ecolabel. It is hence the first certified environmentally-friendly urban youth hostel in Spain. The following assets make the hostel “green”: 100% of the energy consumed at the hostel comes from renewable sources. 99% of the lights bulbs are LED. The energy efficiency of all electrical appliances (e.g. A/C, boiler) is rated a minimum of A+ All water taps and shower heads are water saving push taps. Sleep Green has facilities to make recycling easy. At Sleep Green only biodegradable cleaning products and recycled (toilet)paper is used. Staff promotes organic, vegan and vegetarian eateries. Sleep Green conducts environmental communication and education. ----- Sleep Green provides all necessary services and facilities to make the traveler's stay in Barcelona memorable: The dormitories of only 4 to 6 beds are comfortable, air-conditioned/heated, have a balcony and brand-new mattresses. The hostel is equipped with a guest kitchen to cook meals and have breakfast. The knowledgeable staff is happy to provide lots of information, maps of recommendations, discount cards and insider tips. Sleep Green provides FREE security lockers, FREE and fastest 100 mb internet and WIFI throughout the hostel. Luggage storage is FREE during the day. Plus: Laundry service. Towel rental.
