Overview
The objectives of the foundation have not changed since its inception in 1989, namely: promoting safety; promoting the common interests of the participants in the field of safety. At first glance, these objectives seem easy to achieve, but in practice this is not always the case. The SIR is a unique organization in which different groups of participants voluntarily, but not without obligation, agree on the rules of the game to be able to work safely. Our mission We want to make industrial cleaning structurally safer and healthier. Our vision Working safely is a responsibility for all those involved in the chain. From client, employer to the employee on the work floor. Safety training institutions and the manufacturers-suppliers of the equipment used are part of this chain. We make agreements with each other for safe working which are for everyone: understandable; executable; acceptable. The connection with our participants is therefore our first priority. You do not work safely because you have to, but because you want to. The SIR is based on three important elements that can influence the chance of accidents occurring. The people who are and remain competent through education, training, examination and (re)certification on the basis of the guidelines from the SIR manuals. The means, which must meet the established requirements upon commissioning and must also continue to meet these requirements during the period of use. This can be determined by periodic inspections and tests. Upon approval, test certificates are issued that are valid for a certain period. The safe working methods, which apply to the clients/asset owner, the contractors that carry out the cleaning, the inspection bodies and those companies where the SIR guidelines are included in their safety policy and business activities.
