Overview

The Silicon Alley Entrepreneurs Club (SAEC), started by Dr.Gyan Parida as an online discussion forum and networking group for entrepreneurs in 1999 with the idea of helping create/grow a tech hub Silicon Valley in New York City. Since then, SAEC grew from 250 members to more than 47,800+ dynamic entrepreneurs, investors (VC/Angel), service providers and technology/new media professionals. In a span of 3 years, Dr.Parida grew it to make it the largest, and fastest growing organization of its kind in the country. Due to the phenomenal success of SAEC Dr.Parida was chosen as the 1 of 3 finalist for the USA Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year 2002 and Winner of the Kauffman Supporter of Entrepreneurship. Over a decade SAEC conducted more than 250 Startup events, fundraising pitch contests and helped startups raise over $250 million. As an offshoot of SAEC, Dr.Parida created the "Startup Master Class" in New York, first of its kind in the world, a formal 40 hrs, two week Startup curriculum to train entrepreneurs. Also backed by SAEC Dr.Parida created the bi-annual Global Venture Congress that was held at Madison Square Garden, New York twice a year on technology and Life Sciences. SAEC dedicated to helping fellow entrepreneurs create and develop successful innovative startups in the new economy.
