Shoolin Films is a prominent production house based in Mangalore, Karnataka primarily focusing on the production of Tulu and Kannada movies. Shoolin Films is renowned for its first movie 'Girgit', which was released in August 2019. 'Girgit' becoming Coastalwood’s highest grossing Tulu film ever, breaking all the records in the Tulu film industry and bringing it to new heights. ‘Girgit’ is a Tulu comedy & action movie which set a record by completing 100 days in 7 theaters, including multiplexes in Mangaluru, Udupi, Manipal, Karkala and Moodabidri. It was the first Tulu film to run to packed houses for two weeks in Mysore and for five weeks in 11 theaters in Bengaluru. It was also released in New Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, Gujarat and among other places. 'Girgit' was screened in 15 foreign countries (Including UK and USA). It is the first film from Karnataka to have completed 50 days in Dubai. Shoolin Films' next Tulu venture 'Gamjaal' was a success as well. This was the first Tulu movie to be released after the COVID-19 pandemic ended when people were still wary of gathering in public places.
