Overview

SHIFFT will support the shift towards a low-carbon economy by accelerating the market adoption of sustainable heating solutions in the 2 Seas area. The project objective is to reduce CO2 emissions in the built environment by reducing the use of fossil fuels in the heating of existing household and community buildings. As a result of SHIFFT, sustainable heating solutions will replace fossil technologies for heating of homes and community buildings involved in the project, stimulating the adoption of low-carbon technologies. SHIFFT is supported by the INTERREG 2 Seas funding stream. SHIFFT will work with communities in each of the four EU Member States within the 2 Seas region (UK, Belgium, Netherlands and France) to develop low carbon heat strategies in the project cities, to provide general guidance on developing further strategies. Further, we will work with communities to develop projects in existing buildings that will reduce the carbon generated from heating and to do so as affordably as possible and in ways which can be replicated across the region and the wider EU.
