Overview

SenseLab team, led by Professor Panagiotis Partsinevelos, designs and creates disruptive innovative technological products in the fields of Earth Observation, Satellite Positioning Systems, Remote Sensing as well as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and develops specialized, prototype unmanned systems for various applications with capabilities that exceed even global standards. It also provides specialized services and IT solutions in the field (such as for surveying and mapping companies, education, health and recovery structures, shipping companies, cooperatives and companies involved in precision agriculture, civil protection, fire brigade, environmental organizations, local government, etc.). Sense is one of the first two spin-offs founded by the Technical University of Crete, with the support of the SenseLab research group of the Laboratory of Geodesy and Informatics of the Geosciences, and has gained international recognition in the field of Geoinformatics and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles). SenseLab is one of the few research teams in the world that has 3 consecutive awards and has been the only purely Greek award-winning team in the most widespread space competitions of the European Union in the past and has won more than 20 major international competitions and more than 10 first places among thousands of participants, including Airbus Global Earth Observation Challenge, MIT innovation for Refugees, Copernicus Masters, Galileo Masters, European Space Agency, European Global Navigation Satellite Systems Agency (GSA), Drones for Good, etc.
