SELAM is a Swiss-Ethiopian relief organization with locations in four Ethiopian cities; Addis Ababa, Wukro, Hawassa and Dire Dawa. The SELAM Swiss association is located in Pfungen (ZH). SELAM was founded in 1986 and since the beginning has pursued the mission: Homing – Educating – Providing a future. Specifically, this means the following: We take children in need into our children's villages. We offer them, as well as young people, a solid education and vocational training and support them in their development into independent and responsible citizens. We help families in need and single mothers in their holistic livelihood with medical treatment, child care, education, counseling and work. We always pursue the vision of a dignified life for all children and young people in Ethiopia.
