The SDSU Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) conducts free energy assessments for Southern California manufacturing and production plants. The SDSU IAC has conducted over 550 assessments with an average report total of $110,000 in recommended annual energy savings, saving facilities each about 10-20% of their annual energy use. Our services include a half-day on-site survey and subsequent written report including detailed recommendations, calculations, and return on investments from projected energy cost savings. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, the IAC's goal is to promote energy efficiency while training the next generation of energy engineers by providing hands-on experience to undergraduate and graduate students. The network of Industrial Assessment Centers at universities nationwide has been serving industry since 1976.
