Overview

SciAccess was founded in 2018 by Anna Voelker, who received the Ohio State University President’s Prize, the highest honor that the University bestows upon students committed to social change. This $100,000 award was presented to two out of 12,000 students. Anna used this funding to launch SciAccess, an international initiative designed to promote disability inclusion in STEM. Our vision is to create educational and professional STEM communities that are aware of the need for equal access, equipped to dissolve barriers and foster equity, and dedicated to continual improvement in the inclusion and access to every area of science and STEM. Each year, SciAccess hosts an annual Conference which aims to bring together a diverse community of researchers, professionals, students, educators, disability rights advocates, and anyone else whose interests and skills lie at the intersection of science and accessibility.
