Overview

The Laboratory of Structural Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (SBCB) is a multidisciplinary laboratory integrating research at the Institute of Informatics and the Biotechnology Center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). The Laboratory has an computational infrastructure and extensive expertise for research development in Data Science and Bioinformatics. The team has a broad knowledge in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with emphasis on Machine Learning, Metaheuristics, and Massively Parallel Processing in the design and development of methods and algorithms for molecular docking problems, protein structure prediction, molecular dynamics, transcriptomic data analysis, system biology, including analysis of co-expression networks, regulatory networks, and protein-protein interaction, and post transnational gene regulation (alternative splicing, miRNAs and lncRNAs).
