Overview

The idea behind the Sam boards is quite simple. It re-introduces the opportunity to touch many different types of textures. Our world has been smoothed out, made soft and ergonomically adapted. When did you last notice something you touched provoking a reaction? Sam Boards can provide sensory experiences for those who need it in a way that is accessible to everyone. Our designs are presented in a form that is durable, robust, and easy to clean while being manufactured to be fit for purpose. The Samboards can be utilised by the user in a variety of ways whose benefits have their roots in biology, neuroscience, education and exercising motor skills. The products are silent to use which makes them discrete and less distracting for others nearby. They can be used anywhere at any time, they don’t have batteries or require charging, you can use them in the dark or without looking at them. They can be thrown and dropped, walked on etc. with no damage sustained. The products can be hygienically cleaned and are made from food safe materials, which means even if they are chewed on they remain safe and are CE marked. The boards can be used alone or with support. When you touch the textures on the boards your sensory nerves send signals to your central nervous system. This can be used for the motivation of learning, developing motor skills, encouraging hand eye co-ordination and increasing engagement. The boards can be used to satisfy sensory needs, touch sends signals to the brain, diverting blood flow from other areas reducing anxiety without the use of medication and is an immediate response to stimuli. Texture can be used to engage kin-aestheti learners or very young learners. Different textures can be exciting and make a child want to touch and explore, this need can be directed to a board with letters, numbers and shapes that
