Overview

Sălcuța is one of the pioneering family-owned wineries founded in 1995 and located in the picturesque village of Sălcuţa, Căuşeni district. Founded by one of the most notorious personalities in Republic of Moldova, Eugen Pîslaru, who was a member of the first parliament of the country in 1991, the president of Căuşeni district, a key person in the Transnistrian war from 1992 and a keen promoter of Moldovan wine industry and culture. Sălcuţa has arranged among the first in the country its own production to plant and cultivate its own vineyards, which in turn constantly helps the winery to maintain the high quality year by year and the unique formula of its wines. The winery owns an extensive portfolio of wines produced from grapes harvested from over 400 hectares of family’s own vineyards, including varietal wines, Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) wines, matured wines and unique wine blends. The unique composition of the soil, the limited rainfall volume, the frequent presence of sun, as well as the proximity of the Black Sea and the Dniester River contribute to the creation of well-balanced wines from both local and international grapes, with a superb individual taste with Protected Geographical Indication in the wine region Ștefan Vodă. In 2018, the winery was on the second place in the Top Exporting Wine Producers list. Over the past 25 years, Sălcuța has successfully expanded to more than 15 countries and has kept a consistency in the quality of the wines and their unique formula, due to constant investments in innovative production technology, a team of local and international oenologists with over 30 years of winemaking experience and ISO-22000 and BRC certifications.
