Sage Capital Partners is a lower mid-market focused private equity fund that has been established to invest in and support both traditional search funds and independent/self-funded searchers who seek to acquire small and medium-sized private Canadian businesses (SMEs). Through its support of the Canadian search market, the investment funds managed by Sage have acquired a portfolio of SMEs primarily headquartered in Canada but also occasionally in the US. Sage Capital and the searchers it supports typically seek to acquire businesses with between $1.0M - $6.0M of EBITDA. While we are industry agnostic, we target less cyclical industries including, without limitation, industrial services businesses, software and tech enables services businesses as well as consumer staples. Many of Sage Capital's acquisitions facilitate the succession planning efforts of Canada's retiring business owners who seek to transition their businesses to the next generation of entrepreneur. Sage can not only help retiring business owners take some chips off the table through the equity they have built up in their businesses over the years, but we also provide solutions to business owners who may not have a CEO/entrepreneur within their organization to allow for the owner to retire. Our searchers facilitate that transition and work hard to continue the legacy of retiring business owners while growing the business.
