Overview

S.T.E.A.M. is Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics. S.T.E.A.M ON is a non-profit competition I started in my Junior year for 6th graders - 12 graders that have a passion for S.T.E.A.M. In S.T.E.A.M. ON, the full competition lasts one year. However, there are mini rounds that last one month, where I will give everyone the topic, and in that month, they must create, design, or build anything that surrounds that topic. In that month, you must choose the category or categories in S.T.E.A.M. The idea of this is to find the blend between S.T.E.A.M or find a passion within one of them. Within the month, you win either gold, silver, or bronze medals. At the end of the year, you count how many gold medals you received and whoever acquired the most gets the S.T.E.A.M. ON trophy. We meet every Monday & Wednesday at 5:00 for 30 minutes to 1 hour. The first week we meet to register the groups, the project ideas, the categories you are doing, and the topic for that month. After that, we meet for 30 minutes, either Monday or Wednesday, to ask any questions. I designed this to give teens a chance to think outside the box as well as find an opportunity to do something different with others.
